Turnips put a hearty twist on traditional french fries. These low-carb and keto-friendly root vegetables make a delicious alternative to potato fries.

Ingredients

  • 2 large turnips

  • 6 tbs coconut oil

  • 2 tsp onion powder

  • 1/2 tsp paprika

  • salt and pepper to taste

  • sprig of fresh parsley

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 425 °F.
  • Peel turnips and cut it into sticks.
  • Add 2 tbs of the oil, onion powder and paprika to a bowl, add the turnips. Turn to coat the turnips with the mixture.
  • Add the remaining oil to a baking pan and place in the oven for 5 minutes.
  • Add the turnip sticks to the hot oil and season with salt and pepper.
  • Roast for 25 minutes or until crispy.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley.
