So what are some good foods to eat in certain food groups? Well, here’s a comprehensive list of great ketogenic diet products to add to your shopping list!
Seafoods and Meats
To start off, red meats, poultry, and seafoods are all ketogenic friendly foods. A couple of specific foods are alligator, bacon, bear, beef and beef jerky, chicken breast, chicken legs and thighs. Another are chicken wings, clams, crab, duck, eggs (chicken, duck, goose), goat, goose, ground beef, ground lamb and ham. In addition are hot dogs, lamb chops, lobster, mussel, oyster, pheasant, pork, pork chops, poultry, quail, rabbit, salmon and sausage. Lastly are scallop, shrimp, spam, steak, trout, turkey, and venison steaks.
There are also some foods to watch out for. Breaded foods such as foods with breadcrumbs or batter contain flour. These foods often contained carbohydrates. Watch out for cured meats and processed foods. Glazes and sauces also use cornstarch and flour to thicken them, which is bad to eat on ketogenic diets.
Vegetables
For ketogenic diets, anything that is green and leafy is usually good to eat. Starchy vegetables are also to be avoided due to the high carbohydrate levels. A lot of nutrients also come from fibers, not accounted for in ketogenic diet tracking.

Dairy
Dairy products contained lactose and sugar. These can spike your blood sugar. Choosing fat free or low fat dairy products might be misleading as it might have more starch additives in the product, so please read the ingredients before buying anything.

The ketogenic diet is based mostly on fats, but what does this necessarily entail? Well contrary to popular belief, eating an adequate amount of fat at a caloric deficit will help you lose weight. Eating fat bombs and drinking bulletproof coffee is also great for snack and treats, but not necessary for everyday diet.
