I’m being diligent about counting my carbs, but most nutrition information has net carbs and total carbs. What’s the difference? Which one should I be using?
Here’s the simple explanation:
- Total Carbs – This is the total carb count.
- Net Carbs – This is the total carb count, minus fiber.
You will want to consume EITHER 50g or less if you are using Total Carbs, or 20-30g (or less) for Net Carbs. There’s no wrong way to count, just remember that you get to use the higher number for the higher carb count.
